Crop & Geometry
Open the Crop tool (press R). Crop before fine editing, so you judge the photo as it will be seen.
Cropping
- Choose a ratio: Original, Free, 1 : 1, 4 : 3, 3 : 2, 16 : 9, 5 : 4 (8×10) or A4 / A3 paper.
- Drag the corners or edges to size the crop, and drag inside it to move it.
- Press X (or Swap) to switch between portrait and landscape.
- Press Return (or Done) to apply; Esc cancels; Reset shows the whole photo again.
Straightening
- Angle slider: turn the photo up to 45° either way. It crops automatically so no blank corners show.
- Level (in the crop bar): draw a line along something that should be level, such as the horizon, or upright, such as a wall.
- Rotate and Flip buttons turn the photo a quarter turn or mirror it.
Upright: fixing leaning buildings
Photos taken looking up make buildings lean inwards. Upright finds the lines in the photo and corrects them:
| Mode | What it does |
|---|---|
| Off | No correction. |
| Auto | The strongest correction that suits the photo. |
| Level | Makes the horizon level (rotation only). |
| Vertical | Straightens leaning buildings and verticals. |
| Full | Corrects vertical and horizontal perspective. |
| Guided | You draw 2–4 lines along edges that should be straight. |
Upright crops the photo to hide the corners it stretches, so leave space around the subject when you shoot.
Borders
The Border section, under Crop & Geometry, adds a white, paper or black border, shown on the photo as you set it.
- Size: the border's width, as a percentage of the photo's long side. For an A4 or A3 page you can switch Measure in to mm to set the margin on the printed sheet (for example 20 mm); the app remembers which you prefer.
- Shape: Even all round, a ratio such as Square 1:1 or Portrait 4:5, or an exact A4 or A3 Print page at 300 dpi.
- For a page: Fit shows the whole photo; Fill crops slightly so all four margins are equal, and you can drag to choose what is kept.
Using the Border controls applies the crop you are drawing, so you see the finished print. Tap Cropping… to change the crop again. A4 and A3 exports use this border too.
